The Last Class: Film Screening & Q&A with Producer Heather Kinlaw Lofthouse

Tuesday, August 4, 2026 - 7:30 PM EDT

Join us for a film screening of The Last Class, followed by a virtual Q&A with the film’s Executive Producer, Heather Kinlaw Lofthouse.

Beer, wine, and concessions will be available for purchase.

About the Film

Former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich might be famous for his public service, best-selling books, and viral social media posts, but he always considered teaching his true calling. The Last Class captures a master educator wrestling with the dual realities of his own aging and his students inheriting a world out of balance. Reich confronts the impending finality with unflinching candor, humor, introspection, and a rawness of emotion he has never shared publicly before.

One thousand students fill the biggest lecture hall on campus—the last class to receive Reich’s wisdom and exhortations not to accept that society has to stay the way it is. His final assignment: Who will be the teachers of tomorrow?

About the Executive Producer

Heather Kinlaw Lofthouse is the Executive Director of Inequality Media and Inequality Media Civic Action and the Executive Producer of the documentary The Last Class. She is also the co-host of “The Coffee Klatch,” a conversational podcast about the news of the week, with her longtime collaborator Robert Reich. She has held leadership roles at universities and non-profit organizations in the fields of media, education, and global health.
