Wool & Water Workshop

Monday, February 16, 2026 - 1:00 PM EST

Join Michale Glennon and Tom Collins from the Paul Smith’s College Adirondack Watershed Institute for a hands-on workshop on translating watershed data into art. The Adirondack Watershed Institute works to protect clean water and healthy watersheds through science, stewardship, education, and community engagement. Wool and Water is a data art project of AWI that blends fiber art with science to visually represent changing water quality conditions in the Adirondacks and Lake Champlain Basin. This collaborative project uses knitting, crochet, weaving and other fiber arts to tell the stories of our waterways and inspire their protection.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about Wool and Water and engage in a hands-on activity to represent data from the region while learning about watershed science. Participants will work collaboratively on a large project, and also have the option to create a small individual project to take home. No previous experience or knowledge required! All materials are provided.

Learn more about the project and the science behind it at the  Wool and Water website.

This is an all levels workshop for ages 14 and up. Younger children are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent.
